Application of sodium polyacrylate?
Apr 07, 2023
Sodium polyacrylate is an anionic polyelectrolyte, with a variety of physical and chemical properties, so has a variety of uses, has been in paint, paper, textile, petrochemical, chemical, mining, food, medicine, cosmetics, paper, civil engineering, water treatment, agriculture, forestry and horticulture, physiological health and other fields have been widely used.
Due to the difference in molecular weight, Sodium polyacrylate has different uses.It can be divided into low molecular weight Sodium polyacrylate (about 1000, --5000), which mainly plays the role of dispersion and is a good scale inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor;Medium molecular weight sodium polyacrylate (about 104-106) mainly plays a thickening role, is a paper strengthening agent;High molecular weight Sodium polyacrylate (about 106~107) mainly plays the role of flocculation and can be used as flocculant. The use of ultra-low molecular weight (below 700) sodium polyacrylate has not been fully developed, while ultra-high molecular weight Sodium polyacrylate superabsorbent resin is mainly used as water absorbent.Low-molecular-weight sodium polyacrylate with a molecular weight of 500--5000 has good dispersion, scale and corrosion inhibition properties, and is mainly used in the following fields: as a viscosity reducer in oilfield chemicals;Used as scale removal and agent in industrial heat equipment and water treatment industry and as pigment dispersant in paper industry;Used as a thickener in the food industry;Used as a sizing agent and dispersing agent in the textile industry;Used as viscosity reducer in the drilling industry in petrochemical industry;Used as a washing aid in the detergent industry. In addition, it can also be used as a carrier of granular pesticides, a paint dispersant, a ceramic additive, a high-efficiency cement water reducer, and a new quenching agent for metal materials.
